The Simple Mushroom Grow Kit PLUS is a complete beginner setup built around our sterilized ½ pint BRF jars. It includes six ready-to-inoculate jars, a 28-quart monotub that works as both incubator and fruiting chamber, an LED grow light and a digital thermometer/hygrometer — just add a spore syringe or liquid culture.
It teaches the fundamentals — inoculation, colonization and fruiting — using the classic PF Tek jar method, without the extra steps of a bulk grow. When you’re ready for bigger harvests, the same tub and skills carry straight over to bulk monotub growing.

How it works
- Store the jars. Keep jars in the fridge until you’re ready — up to 3 months. Let them come to room temperature before inoculating.
- Inoculate. Wipe down your workspace, then inject 1–1.5cc of spore solution or 2cc of liquid culture per jar, split across the four pre-drilled holes. Not sure how many syringes to buy? Use our syringe calculator.
- Colonize. Keep jars somewhere clean, dark and steady, ideally in the low-to-mid 70s °F, until they’re fully white.
- Set up the tub. Prepare the monotub with the liner, filter disks, perlite and light as shown in the printed guide.
- Birth and fruit. Birth the colonized cakes into the tub, keep humidity up and give them indirect light — the LED makes it easy — then harvest.
