Description
NEW!
Run two strains in one tub. The Monotub Divider splits a Grower's Select Large 66Q or Medium 44Q monotub into two side-by-side grows, each in its own liner with its own label. It pressure-fits into place: no drilling, no glue, and no changes to your tub.
The kit includes the divider, two small pre-cut liners and two Monotub Tracker labels, so you can set up two separate grows the day it arrives.

Why growers use a monotub divider
- A true side-by-side comparison: both strains share the same tub, air, light and temperature, so the only real difference between the two sides is the genetics.
- Test a new strain without giving it a whole tub: run a proven favorite on one side and something new on the other.
- Two grows, one footprint: one tub on the shelf instead of two.
- Each side stays separate: every half gets its own liner, so the substrates never mix. If one side has a problem, you lift that liner out and leave the other side alone.
- Made to fit our tubs: the 3D-printed end shoes are shaped to the exact wall slope of Grower's Select monotubs, so the panel sits flush against the walls and stays put.
What's in the kit
- 1 × Monotub Divider: CNC-cut 1/4" black HDPE panel with two 3D-printed end shoes and an anti-slip silicone backing
- 2 × small pre-cut monotub liners, one for each side
- 2 × Monotub Tracker write-and-wipe labels (4" × 2.75"), one for each strain
How it works
-
Clean the tub and divider. Wash with soap and water, then wipe both down with 70% isopropyl alcohol.
-
Press the divider into place. Set it across the middle of the tub and push it straight down until the end shoes sit firmly against the side walls. The walls narrow toward the bottom, so it wedges tighter the farther down it goes.
-
Line each half. Drop a small liner into each side and fold the extra over the rim.
-
Spawn each side. In a Large 66Q, plan on about half the tub's normal load per side: one spawn bag or two 32 oz jars mixed into up to 5 lbs of bulk substrate. In a Medium 44Q, use about one 32 oz jar or half a spawn bag into roughly 3.5–4 lbs per side.
-
Label both sides. Stick a Monotub Tracker label on the outside of the tub in front of each half and write in the strain and spawn date.
-
Colonize, fruit and harvest as normal. When the run is done, lift each liner out with the spent cake in it, wash the divider, and it's ready for the next grow.
Pick partners that like the same conditions. Both sides share one tub's air, humidity and temperature. Two strains of the same species are the easiest pairing. If you're mixing species, choose ones with similar fruiting temperatures and humidity, such as two oyster varieties.

Need a tub or a marker? The divider is made for the Grower's Select Large 66Q and Medium 44Q monotubs. Write on the tracker labels with any fine-tip permanent marker, or grab the Monotub Tracker Label Kit, which comes with a 0.4 mm marker and alcohol pads.
Common questions
Which monotubs does the divider fit?
It fits the Grower's Select Large 66Q and Medium 44Q monotubs. The end shoes are shaped to the wall slope and width of those tubs. Other brands use different tapers and widths, so we can't promise a secure fit in them.
Do I need to drill or glue anything?
No. The divider pressure-fits between the side walls and the anti-slip silicone backing holds it in place. Nothing is screwed, glued or cut into the tub, and it comes right back out when you're done.
Will the two strains mix?
No. Each side gets its own liner, and the panel sits between them, so the two substrates and their mycelium stay apart. Keep in mind that the divider separates the substrate, not the air. Both sides share the tub's air and humidity.
What if one side gets contaminated?
Because each half is in its own liner, you can fold the liner up over the contaminated cake and lift it out without disturbing the other side. Do it as soon as you spot the problem. The divider doesn't stop airborne spores, so watch the healthy side closely for the rest of the run.
How much spawn and substrate goes on each side?
Plan on about half the tub's normal load per side. In a Large 66Q, that's one spawn bag or two 32 oz jars into up to 5 lbs of bulk substrate per side. In a Medium 44Q, it's about one 32 oz jar or half a spawn bag into roughly 3.5–4 lbs per side.
Can I grow two different species at the same time?
Yes, as long as they like similar conditions. Both sides share the same temperature, humidity and fresh air exchange, so pair species with similar fruiting needs. Two strains of the same species are the simplest setup.
Is the divider reusable, and how do I clean it?
Yes. After each grow, wash it by hand with soap and water and wipe it with 70% isopropyl alcohol. Don't boil it, pressure cook it or put it in the dishwasher. High heat can warp the 3D-printed end shoes.
Does it come with a marker for the labels?
No. The kit includes the two labels only. Any fine-tip permanent marker works, and the ink wipes off with isopropyl alcohol so you can reuse the labels. The Monotub Tracker Label Kit includes a 0.4 mm marker and alcohol pads.
