Description
Description
A wholesale case of 8 XL All-in-One mushroom grow bags, 6 lbs each — 2 lbs of sterilized 5-grain spawn over 4 lbs of Select Bulk Substrate, behind a 0.22 micron filter patch and a self-healing injection port. The same inject-incubate-fruit workflow as our 4 lb bag, with more material for bigger flushes.

The XL is the bag for customers who have outgrown the 4 lb size but aren't ready for a monotub. It fruits in the same small footprint, and it is pressure-sterilized in our own autoclave and shipped fresh like everything else we bag.

Why growers pick the XL All-in-One
- More material, same workflow – 50% more bag than the 4 lb size, with the same inject, incubate, break-and-shake and fruit steps.
- Layered and ready – Sterilized 5-grain spawn and bulk substrate are already in the bag — nothing to prep, mix or transfer.
- Fits a shelf – Bigger runs without the space a tub takes.
- Clean start – Pressure-sterilized in-house and shipped fresh.
- Room to scale – Fruit in the bag, or move a colonized cake into a monotub when you want more output.
What comes in the case
- 8 × 6 lb XL All-in-One mushroom grow bags
- Per bag: 2 lbs sterilized 5-grain spawn blend
- Per bag: 4 lbs sterilized Select Bulk Substrate
- Self-supporting grow bag with a 0.22 micron filter patch and a self-healing injection port
- Step-by-step printed instructions with each bag
How to grow in an XL bag
- Inoculate. Wipe the port with alcohol, then inject 5–7cc of spores or about 10cc of liquid culture into the grain section.
- Incubate. Hold the bag around 72–76°F until the grain is about 75% colonized.
- Break and shake. Mix the colonized grain through the substrate, then let the bag finish colonizing — typically 10–14 days.
- Start fruiting. Give the bag indirect light and fresh air once it is fully colonized.
- Harvest. Open the top and mist the inside walls as needed, or transfer the cake to a larger fruiting setup.
Faster starts: liquid culture usually colonizes noticeably faster than spores, which shortens incubation most in bigger bags like the XL. Full instructions are in the All-in-One Grow Bag Guide.

Common questions
How is the XL different from the 4 lb All-in-One?
The XL holds 6 lbs instead of 4 — 2 lbs of 5-grain spawn and 4 lbs of Select Bulk Substrate — so there is more material for larger flushes. The workflow is the same: inject, incubate, break and shake, fruit.
How much spore solution or liquid culture should go in each XL bag?
Inject 5–7cc of spores or about 10cc of liquid culture into the grain section through the self-healing port.
How long does an XL bag take to colonize?
After break and shake at about 75% grain colonization, the bag typically finishes colonizing in 10–14 days at 72–76°F. Liquid culture is usually faster than spores.
Can I move the colonized XL cake into a monotub?
Yes. Many growers fruit in the bag, but you can transfer a fully colonized cake into a larger fruiting setup for more surface area.
Can I get retail boxes?
Retail boxes are available by request only. Contact us before placing your order.
Can I use a discount code on a wholesale case?
No. Additional discount codes cannot be applied to wholesale case pricing.
