Rapid Rhizo Pre-Poured Sterilized Agar Plates (5-Pack)
Freshly poured. Lab sterile. Rhizomorphic results.
Take your mycology work to the next level with our Rapid Rhizo Agar Plates—expertly formulated to promote fast, aggressive rhizomorphic growth. Whether you're cleaning up samples, isolating top genetics, or showcasing final transfers, these sterilized malt extract agar plates are a powerful tool for both hobbyists and pros.
Unlike agar plates that sit on shelves for weeks, ours are made fresh daily in a certified clean room, machine poured for precision, sealed in polyolefin packaging, and infused with chloramphenicol to resist contamination. It's the highest standard in clean agar work—no shortcuts.
What’s Included:
- (5) 90mm Rapid Rhizo Agar Plates, pre-poured and sealed
- Custom nutrient blend designed to trigger rhizomorphic growth
- Pressure sterilized and poured in our state-of-the-art clean room

- Plates are sealed fresh in polyolefin packaging for extended shelf life
- For best results, store in fridge and use within 3–4 weeks
Why Rhizomorphic Mycelium Matters:
Not all mycelium is created equal. While tomentose growth looks fluffy and matted, rhizomorphic mycelium grows in strong threadlike strands that spread rapidly and colonize efficiently. Our plates are specially made to encourage this prized growth structure, helping you isolate and transfer your best genetics with ease.
Lab Precision, Every Time:
Starting April 2023, all our agar is machine-prepped and machine-filled for unmatched consistency:
- Sterilized at 18 PSI for 30 minutes
- 25ml precisely dispensed per plate
- Cooled and capped under UV-C light
- Labeled and sealed immediately
This system ensures that every plate is clean, consistent, and contamination-resistant—reducing human error while maximizing growth potential.
What Is Agar?
Agar is a jelly-like substance used to grow and isolate mycelium in sterile conditions. Add a drop of spore solution or liquid culture to a plate and incubate. In a few days, you’ll see white mycelium patches. From there, transfer a healthy section to a grain jar, spawn bag, or liquid culture.
Using agar lets you:
- Isolate strong mycelium
- Detect and avoid contamination
- Work with clean, vigorous cultures
- Improve your flushes and yields
Even if you're just starting out, working with agar becomes easier (and cleaner) thanks to our contaminant-resistant formula and step-by-step guide.
