This desiccant refill pack pairs 6 oz of silica gel with 6 oz of activated alumina — the same two-stage desiccant combination used in our Easy Mushroom Drying Kit. Silica gel pulls moisture fast; activated alumina keeps working after the silica gel is full.
Both are reusable. The silica gel has blue indicator beads that turn pink when it's saturated, and you recharge both by baking at 250°F for about 60 minutes. Use it to refill a drying kit or add drying power to any sealed container.

How to use them
- Pre-dry. Air-dry fresh mushrooms in front of a fan first so most of the water is already gone.
- Load the container. Put both desiccants in the bottom of an airtight container and set the mushrooms on a screen or rack above them.
- Seal and wait. Close the container and let the desiccants pull out the remaining moisture until the mushrooms snap cleanly.
- Watch the beads. When the indicator beads turn from blue to pink, the silica gel is saturated.
- Recharge. Bake both desiccants at 250°F for about 60 minutes, let them cool, and reuse.
