Microppose Bamboo Wood Pellets are a clean, fast-hydrating substrate base made from rapidly renewable bamboo — an alternative to hardwood sawdust pellets for oyster, lion's mane, shiitake, chestnut, reishi and other wood-loving mushrooms. Sold in 20 lb and 40 lb bags.
The pellets break apart quickly in hot water into a light, evenly textured substrate. Use them on their own or blend with soy hulls or wheat bran for a custom recipe, then sterilize before inoculating. Spent substrate can be composted.

How to use them
- Hydrate. Start with about equal parts water and pellets by weight, using hot water to speed up the breakdown.
- Supplement if you like. Mix in soy hulls, wheat bran or other supplements, and adjust moisture for your recipe.
- Mix and bag. Mix thoroughly and load into filter-patch bags or containers.
- Sterilize. Pressure-sterilize, especially when the mix is supplemented, then let it cool completely.
- Inoculate. Inoculate with grain spawn or culture using your normal sterile process.
Not sterile: These bamboo pellets are a raw substrate ingredient. Sterilize them before inoculating, especially when you add nutrients or supplements.
