Description

Pioppino Black Poplar Liquid Culture Syringe (10cc)

Cyclocybe aegerita – Gourmet Depth with a Nutty Finish

Pioppino, also known as Black Poplar, is a gourmet mushroom beloved for its meaty texture and layered, nutty flavor. This variety produces medium-sized fruiting bodies with convex to flattened caps ranging from dark brown to light brown-grey, deepening in color at the center. The caps sit atop slender cream-colored stems with a texture reminiscent of asparagus. Underneath, small grey-brown gills release dark spores, contributing to the mushroom’s bold culinary presence.

When cooked, Pioppino mushrooms release a faint floral aroma and deliver a mildly sweet, peppery, and earthy flavor—ideal for stir-fries, pasta dishes, and hearty sautés.

Robust and pain-free experience

Phenomenal grow experience. Never worked with these before. Inoculated via sorghum to a 5lb block of Masters Mix and incubated at room temp for 2 weeks+ until full colonization. Slit cut in bag below filter patch once introduced to fruiting conditions. After pins establish, widen the slit, and after fruit bodies are fully formed, cut from the slit and remove the top of the bag, leaving a 'collar' around the fruits to create a microclimate. AIO grow kit users should be familiar with the process.

Harvested 1 lean pound of product after 9 days, please see images.

I used these spores in my monotub, and I have never experienced such aggressive pinning before! The just mushrooms wouldn't stop coming! Tasted so yummy in my pasta dinner too :)
