Description
The Greenhouse Heater & Humidity Control Unit is the same custom climate control unit that ships inside every Mushroom Ecosphere 3.0, sold on its own for Martha tents and other indoor mushroom greenhouses. A 200W light-free infrared element warms the tent, a 5" brushless fan spreads the heat evenly through every tier, and a lava rock water tray on top adds humidity as it warms.
It is the fix for cold basements, garages, and winter grows, where the room is too cool for mushrooms to fruit well. Set it on the bottom rack, fill the tray, and plug it in — or add a temperature controller to hold an exact set point around the clock.

How to set it up
- Place it on the bottom rack. Center it on the lowest shelf so warm air rises through every tier, with the tent cover and grow bags clear of the unit.
- Install the heat element. Screw the included infrared element firmly into the socket.
- Fill the tray. Add water until it covers the lava rocks.
- Power it and set the heat. Plug it in, switch it on, and use the dimmer to set the output — or plug it into a digital temperature controller and set your target temperature.
- Keep the tray topped up. Check the water when you check your grows, and refill as it evaporates.
Heating only: the unit warms the tent but cannot cool it. Place your tent in a room that stays a few degrees below your target temperature so the heater is doing the work, and keep plastic, bags, and substrate from resting against it.

Is this the same unit that comes with the Ecosphere 3.0?
Yes. It is the same custom climate control unit that ships in every Mushroom Ecosphere 3.0: a 200W light-free infrared element, a 5" brushless circulation fan and a lava rock humidity tray in a waterproof housing. Buying it on its own lets you add Ecosphere-style heat to a Martha tent, an Ecosphere 3.0 Foundation Edition, or another clear-cover grow tent.
How does it raise humidity?
Fill the top tray with water so it covers the lava rocks. The heat from below warms the tray, and the porous rocks give the water a large surface to evaporate from, lifting humidity in the tent to 75% or more. Most gourmet mushrooms fruit best at 85–95% humidity, so for fruiting, pair it with a humidifier and let the tray add a steady boost in between cycles.
Does the heater give off light?
No. The infrared element produces heat without light, so it will not interfere with your lighting schedule or fruiting cycle.
Do I need a temperature controller?
The built-in dimmer sets how hard the heater runs, but it does not read the temperature. To hold an exact temperature day and night, plug the unit into our digital temperature controller: it switches the heater on below your set point and off when it is reached. The unit heats only, so place the tent in a room that stays a few degrees below your target.
The heater is not warming up. What should I check?
Make sure the switch is on and turn the dimmer all the way up. To test the socket, screw in a standard light bulb: if it lights, the socket and wiring are working, so switch off, let everything cool, and reinstall the infrared heat element firmly. If a standard bulb does not light either, contact us.
Will it fit my tent?
It is built for the bottom rack of a Martha tent or Ecosphere, which uses a 27.6" x 19" shelf, and it works in similar clear-cover tents with a wire bottom shelf. Warm air rises from the bottom rack, and the fan spreads it through every tier above.
