The Bonsai DIY 24" x 18" XL Flow Hood Kit gives you the two parts that matter most in a laminar flow hood — a 24" x 18" HEPA filter rated 99.99% at 0.3 microns and a pre-wired centrifugal blower matched to it — so you can build the cabinet yourself.
Order the Blower & Filter Bundle to build a complete XL hood, or the Blower Only if you already have a filter or are designing your own build. The blower moves 549 CFM at 1430 RPM and comes pre-wired with an in-line switch, so there is no electrical work.

How to build your hood
- Plan the box. Build an airtight plenum box with one face cut to fit the 24" x 18" filter, and an intake opening sized for the blower.
- Mount the blower. Fasten the blower so it pushes air into the box. Add a pre-filter on the intake side to protect the HEPA filter from dust.
- Seat the filter. Set the filter into the opening with its gasket against the box so all air has to pass through the filter media.
- Seal every seam. Air should only leave through the filter face. Any gap lets unfiltered air bypass the HEPA.
- Power on and work. Turn the blower on with the in-line switch, let it run before you start, and work in the clean airflow in front of the filter face.
