Description
One spore syringe only goes so far. Inject 3–5 cc of it into this pint of sterile nutrient solution and a few days later you're holding enough living mycelium to inoculate 20 spawn bags or 84 half-pint jars — and it colonizes grain over a week faster than spores would have.
- 10 ozculture solution
- 3–5 ccto inoculate
- 4–5 daysto visible growth
- 20+spawn bags
- 50 ccsyringe included

Why growers use liquid culture
Spores have to germinate before anything happens, and in a bag of grain that clock runs while contaminants get a head start. Liquid culture front-loads that step into a sealed jar where you can watch it. By the time you inoculate grain, you're transferring mycelium that's already actively growing.
- Multiply one syringe into 20+ — stretch limited genetics across a whole run.
- Faster colonization — cuts well over a week off grain colonization times.
- Cloning made simple — expand a favorite strain from spores or from an agar wedge.
- Better consistency — evenly distributed live mycelium inoculates every bag the same way.
- Lower cost per grow — far more output from the same number of syringes.
What's included
- 10 oz sterilized liquid culture solution in a pint jar
- Dual-layer 0.22 micron waterproof filter lid
- Self-healing injection port
- Magnetic mixing bar
- High-power external magnet
- 50 cc luer lock syringe
- 16-gauge sterile needle
- Isopropyl alcohol prep swabs
- Step-by-step printed instructions
How to use it
- Inoculate — wipe the port with an alcohol swab and inject 3–5 cc of spore solution, liquid culture, or drop in a clean agar wedge.
- Incubate at 76–82°F, out of direct light.
- Watch for growth — a white cloud of mycelium usually appears within 4–5 days.
- Stir regularly with the magnetic bar and external magnet to keep the mycelium in suspension.
- Draw and inoculate — pull culture into the 50 cc syringe and move it into grain jars or spawn bags.
The nutrient blend: our own 3.8% formulation of distilled water, dextrose, extra light malt extract and peptone — pressure sterilized and ready to inject. Nothing to mix, measure or pressure cook.

Frequently asked questions
How much spore solution do I inject?
3 to 5 cc. Wipe the self-healing port with an alcohol swab first and let it dry. You can also start the jar from an existing liquid culture or from a clean agar wedge.
How long until it is ready to use?
A white cloud of mycelium usually shows within 4 to 5 days at 76 to 82 degrees, and the jar is generally ready to draw from within a week to ten days. Judge by the growth rather than the calendar, since species and starting material both change the pace.
How many bags or jars will one kit inoculate?
Up to 20 spawn bags or 84 half-pint jars from a single 10 oz jar, depending on how heavily you dose each one.
How long does the kit keep?
Use the jar within 2 to 3 weeks of arrival for best results, and keep it refrigerated before and after use. Once fully colonized, the culture holds in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 months.
Do I need a magnetic stir plate?
No. The kit includes a magnetic stir bar and a high-power external magnet, so you can spin the culture by hand whenever you check on it. A stir plate is an optional upgrade that keeps the mycelium in even suspension and makes the culture easier to draw.
What if the jar arrives damaged or leaking?
Inspect it on arrival. We guarantee replacement on any jar that shows up damaged or leaking.
