About Reishi
Reishi is the glossy, kidney-shaped polypore sometimes called the lingzhi. It grows woody and varnished-looking, in shades of red-brown and amber, and it is far too tough to eat — which is exactly why it has been prepared as a tea, decoction, or tincture for centuries in East Asian herbal tradition rather than served as food.
Reishi fruiting bodies naturally contain triterpenes, beta-glucans, and polysaccharides. Those triterpenes are also what make Reishi famously bitter. Our dual extraction is designed to carry the mushroom's full natural profile into the bottle rather than isolating any single constituent.
The liposomal glycerite difference
Suspending the extract in a liposomal glycerite base gives you an alcohol-free tincture, and the naturally sweet glycerin does a lot to soften Reishi's characteristic bitterness compared with a traditional alcohol extract.
