How to use it
- Inoculate — wipe the port with an alcohol swab and inject 3–5 cc of spore solution, or add a clean agar wedge.
- Incubate at 76–82°F, out of direct light.

- Stir regularly with the magnetic bar and external magnet to keep development even.
- Draw and inoculate — use the 60 cc syringe to expand into grain jars or spawn bags.

How much spore solution does a 28 oz jar need?
Still only 3 to 5 cc. The larger volume does not need a larger starting dose, which is exactly why the XL stretches a syringe so much further.
Should I buy the XL or the standard Premium kit?
The 10 oz Premium kit inoculates around 20 spawn bags and suits growers running a tub or two at a time. The 28 oz XL inoculates 40 or more and makes sense once you are inoculating in batches or running continuous grows.
Can I start the jar from agar instead of spores?
Yes. Drop in a clean agar wedge from an isolated culture and it will expand the same way. Starting from agar is usually faster than starting from spores, since the mycelium is already established.
How long does the culture keep?
Use the jar within 2 to 3 weeks of arrival for best results, and keep it refrigerated before and after use. Once fully colonized, unused culture holds in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 months.
Do I need a stir plate?
No. The magnetic stir bar and external magnet included with the kit let you spin the culture by hand. A stir plate is an optional upgrade that keeps the mycelium evenly suspended and easier to draw.
