The Essentials Substrate Ecosphere Package 3.0 is a complete mushroom growing setup in one order: the climate-controlled Mushroom Ecosphere 3.0 grow tent, plus the jars, 5-grain spawn bags, casing mix, and vermiculite to run your first jar grow and your first bulk grow at the same time.
It is the bundle for growers who want the quick results of jars while also learning the bulk casing method that produces the biggest harvests. Everything that makes the Ecosphere work — the infrared climate control system, 3L Monsoon humidifier, COB LED lighting, and programmable timers — is included, so the only thing you add is your culture.

How your first grow comes together
- Set up the Ecosphere. Assemble the frame without tools, lay the drip liner, place the climate control unit on the bottom rack, and set your temperature on the digital thermostat.
- Program the timers. One timer runs the LED lighting schedule, the other runs the Monsoon humidifier.
- Inoculate the jars and spawn bags. Use the liquid culture or spore syringe of your choice, then let them colonize on a shelf inside the warm tent.
- Fruit the jars. Once fully colonized, move the jars into fruiting conditions on an upper shelf for your first, quickest harvest.
- Go bulk with the spawn bags. Break up the colonized grain, combine it with the casing mix in an aluminum tray following the included guide, and fruit it on its own shelf for a much larger harvest.
Hand-built and electrician-tested: every Ecosphere climate control unit is hand-built and tested by a licensed electrician to deliver safe, even heating with no hot spots or humidity gaps.
How the climate control system works
Heat rises from the unit on the bottom rack, the brushless fan circulates it evenly through every tier, and the digital thermostat switches the 200W infrared element on and off to hold your set point around the clock. The Monsoon humidifier and the LED lighting run on their own daily timers, so the tent follows the same routine every day without you touching it.

What does the Essentials Package add to the standard Ecosphere 3.0?
Everything in the Mushroom Ecosphere 3.0 — tent, climate control system, Monsoon humidifier, lighting, timers, drip liner and trays — plus a starter set of grow supplies: six 1-Step Ultimate ½-pint substrate jars, two Premium 5-grain spawn bags, two 5 lb bags of Select bulk casing mix, and a quart of vermiculite. It is the same system with enough material to run your first jar grow and your first bulk grow at the same time.
Is a mushroom culture included?
No. The grain spawn and jars arrive sterilized and ready to inoculate, so you choose the species. Add a culture of your choice — our liquid culture syringes are the easiest place to start.
What is the difference between the jar method and the bulk casing method?
Jars are small, self-contained, and quick — a good way to learn the basics and get an early harvest. The bulk method uses colonized grain spawn mixed into casing substrate in a tray, which takes a little more work but produces much larger harvests from the same shelf space. The Essentials Package lets you run both side by side and see which fits the way you like to grow.
Should I choose the 4-tier or 5-tier Essentials Package?
Both include the same climate control system and the same grow supplies, and both sit on a 29" x 20" footprint with the drip liner. The 5-tier is 75" tall with 22.5 cubic feet of interior space; the 4-tier is 63" tall with 17.7 cubic feet. Pick the 5-tier if you expect to scale into more casing trays later.
How is this different from the Monster Monsoon Package?
The Essentials Package is a starter bundle for trying both jars and bulk. The Monster Monsoon Package is built for volume: it comes only in the 5-tier, with 30 lbs of casing mix, eight spawn bags or twelve 32 oz grain jars, and eight aluminum casing trays.
Can the Ecosphere cool the tent, or only heat it?
It only heats. The digital thermostat cycles the 200W infrared element to hold whatever temperature you set, so set it a few degrees above your room temperature and place the Ecosphere in a room that stays below your target. If your room runs hotter than your target, the climate system can't bring it down.
