Description
Description
Midwest’s Wild Horse Booster is a pasteurized, fully hydrated horse-manure additive for bulk substrate. Each 1 lb bag is vacuum sealed and ready to mix into your CVG — about 1 lb of booster per 10 lbs of substrate — to add a manure-based layer to monotubs and trays.
It’s made with wild horse manure from northern Nebraska and Wyoming, blended with vermiculite, gypsum, hydrated lime, spring water and a mineral blend, then brought to field capacity and pasteurized in our liquid-immersion system for 2.5 hours.

Why growers use Wild Horse Booster
- Adds manure to CVG – Brings a nitrogen-rich, manure-based component to coco coir substrate for species that prefer manure.
- Ready to mix – Fully hydrated to field capacity — no soaking, measuring water or pasteurizing on your end.
- Pasteurized – Treated for 2.5 hours in our liquid-immersion pasteurization system.
- pH-buffered – Gypsum and hydrated lime keep the blend balanced.
- Small, flexible bags – 1 lb bags make it easy to dose a single tub or scale up.
What’s in it
- Wild horse manure (northern Nebraska and Wyoming)
- Vermiculite
- Spring water
- Gypsum and hydrated lime (pH buffers)

How to use it
- Measure. Use about 1 lb of booster per 10 lbs of bulk substrate — ½ bag per 5 lb bag of Select Bulk Substrate.
- Mix into the bottom layers. Blend the booster and colonized spawn into the bulk substrate that goes in the lower layers of your monotub or tray.
- Top it off. Finish with about ½ inch of plain Select substrate on top.
- Colonize and fruit. Colonize and fruit as you normally would.
