The MycoClimate™ 44Q Automated Monotub Mushroom Grow Kit is designed for growers who want greater control over their growing environment. This advanced system introduces stable temperature regulation and fresh air exchange to help create ideal conditions for reliable mushroom cultivation.
At the center of the system is a dual-chamber tub design that allows the base to hold a shallow water reservoir. A digital aquarium heater warms the water bath, creating gentle radiant heat that surrounds the growing chamber. Unlike traditional heat mats, this method distributes warmth evenly without hot spots and prevents the substrate from drying out.
To further improve growing conditions, the MycoClimate™ system includes a filtered air exchange pump that delivers clean, oxygen-rich air through a silicone hose with a built-in HEPA filter. Last week I got the brick to test drive for my microgreens, after using Fox Farm for over 3.5 years. As the rising costs of soil, the weight, the shipping cost and the covering per bag, we needed to find something else. After a couple of days searching I found the bricks from Midwest. I send an email to be sure that I can use it for my greens, signed up for subscription as it saved me 10 bucks and ordered a pack of 4. If it doesn't work well so it be, for 66 bucks, 120 bucks cheaper than the soil, there's not much to loose.
I was anxious, as I never used anything else than soil, your always be careful when changing to a different product.
Used 1 brick with water and was blown away immidiatly as I actually was getting almost 28 gallons of soil from 1 brick, astonishing. Okay now we plant and see if it's working and dam, I'm impressed!!! Greens came up 2 days faster than expected, the soil is the best i've got in years, they water intake is amazing as it holds it much longer than soil. The greens looked great and taste perfectly.
I counted that a pallet of 220 bricks for $1724 incl. shipping, could give me roughly estimated 26 gallon per brick, 5720 gallons which is 764cu.ft, I would need to buy 382 bags of soil to get the same amount of soil comparing to the bricks, I would need to order 8 pallets of soil which ends up incl. shipping at $17236,80 (shipping per pallet at $861). Considering that I get an awesome product that works 10 times better than soil, I also safe $15512,80 that I can invest in my company. I'm sold. The future looks brighter than ever as i stick with the bricks!!
I order everything here first so needless to say… but well deserved…

If contamination is a concern for you, this FFU is definitely worth the investment. With the Bonsai Laser Particulate/Contaminate Meter PM 2.5, I consistently got all 0's up to 5 feet away (only tested up to 5 feet), as long as I stayed within the 23" × 23" area in front of the filter. Outside that zone, particle counts are still very low.

This kit contains everything you need to start growing your own mushrooms (except the genetics of course).
I inoculated the grain with Gorilla Wizard LC on 3/1 then did a break n’ shake on 3/12.
11 days later on 3/23 I transferred the grain spawn to bulk substrate in the monotub (I added a casing layer on top).
It’s been about a week now and it’s showing nice recolonization :)
I’m very pleased with this kit. The 44q container is fantastic! It has a tall lid so your mushrooms are able to grow and stretch :) I’ve tried other monotubs (like the inflatable one - the concept was great the practicality of it wasn’t quite up to par),
So far everything about this company has been great, I haven’t had any contamination or anything. I will update in a couple weeks the outcome of my Gorilla Wizard grow :)

These silicone lid covers are a game changer. When I prep grains, water always finds a way under the foil and onto my lids no matter how tight I get the foil. These lids go on quickly and keep my jar lids nice and dry! This is big for anyone using paper filter patches for gas exchange. Thank you Midwest for having exactly what I needed!
