Description

Willy’s Blend manure-enriched agar plates are conditioning plates for cultures headed to manure-based substrates. Each plate starts as our premium MEA with yeast extract, enriched with a sterilized, filtered infusion of authentic Willy’s Blend manure substrate, so your culture meets the nutrients it will see later from its very first growth.

Use them for spores, transfers, clone work and culture cleanup. They’re designed to help you spot the genetics that perform best on manure before you ever move to grain or a tub. Every batch is poured fresh daily and sealed the same day.

Why condition on manure-enriched agar?

Standard MEA is rich in nutrients, but it doesn’t match the environment of a manure-based substrate. Adding a sterilized infusion of real Willy’s Blend is designed to:

  • Pre-adapt cultures – Introduce mycelium to a manure nutrient profile early.
  • Reveal manure-ready genetics – Help you select the growth that does best on manure-based grows.
  • Ease the transition – Prepare cultures for the move to grain and bulk substrate.
  • Shorten the adjustment – Aim to reduce lag after inoculation into a manure substrate.

What’s in the pack

  • 5 sterile Willy’s Blend–infused agar plates
  • Premium MEA + yeast extract + Willy’s Blend infusion
  • Machine-poured into Microppose professional-grade 90mm dishes

How they’re made

  • Produced in our clean room on MediaPrep and MediaFill sterile systems
  • Sterilized at 18 PSI for 30 minutes
  • Dispensed at 25 ml per plate for consistent depth
  • UV-C treated, capped, laser-labeled and batch-verified
  • Machine-poured, so every plate is identical

How to use them

  1. Inoculate. Add a drop of spore solution or place a tissue wedge on the plate.
  2. Incubate. Let it grow for about 3–7 days.
  3. Select. Pick the strongest, cleanest growth that’s taking to the manure-enriched agar.
  4. Transfer. Move it to grain, liquid culture or straight into production.

FAQ

What makes these different from standard MEA plates?

They start as our MEA with yeast extract, then get a sterilized infusion of Willy’s Blend manure substrate, so cultures are introduced to manure nutrition before they move to grain or bulk.

What can I use them for?

Spore germination, transfers, clone work, isolation and culture cleanup — anything you’d use standard agar for, with a manure-based grow in mind.

How do I store them?

Refrigerate them and use within 3–4 weeks for best results.

How are they made?

Machine-poured in our clean room at 25 ml per plate after sterilizing at 18 PSI for 30 minutes, then UV-C treated, capped, laser-labeled and sealed the same day.

Do I need these for a manure grow?

No, standard agar works. These are designed to condition cultures for manure-based substrates and help you select the genetics that do best on them.
