Polyfil synthetic fiber for plugging the air holes in monotubs and fruiting chambers. Lets fresh air in while filtering out debris. One overfilled quart bag covers 2–3 tubs.

Description

This 1-quart bag of polyfil synthetic fibers is the simple way to plug the air holes in a monotub or fruiting chamber: it lets fresh air exchange while filtering out airborne contaminants and debris.

Stuff a loose plug of polyfil into each ventilation hole and your tub breathes without leaving an open path for mold spores. Each overfilled quart bag holds enough to outfit 2–3 standard containers, which makes it an easy, economical add-on for small and mid-sized grows.

Why growers use polyfil

  • Breathable filter – Lets fresh air into the tub while slowing airborne contaminants.
  • Keeps debris out – A plug in each hole stops spores and dust from drifting straight onto your substrate.
  • Easy to adjust – Pack holes tighter or looser to fine-tune airflow.
  • Works with any tub – Compatible with all bulk casing grow setups and DIY fruiting chambers.
  • Economical – One quart bag covers 2–3 standard containers.

What's included

  • 1 overfilled quart-size bag of polyfil synthetic fibers — enough for 2–3 monotubs or containers

How to use polyfil in your tub

  1. Drill your holes. Make the air holes in your tub or container where you want air exchange.
  2. Pull a plug. Tear off a small tuft of polyfil a bit larger than the hole.
  3. Stuff each hole. Push the tuft into the hole so it fills it snugly without leaving gaps.
  4. Adjust airflow. Pack the plugs looser for more air exchange or tighter for less.
  5. Replace as needed. Swap in fresh polyfil between grows.

Tip: A plug that's too dense chokes off fresh air; one that's too loose lets contaminants through. Aim for a snug fill you can still see light through.

FAQ

What is polyfil used for in mushroom growing?

It plugs the air holes in monotubs and fruiting chambers, allowing fresh air exchange while filtering out airborne contaminants and debris.

How many tubs will one bag cover?

Each overfilled quart bag has enough polyfil for 2–3 standard monotubs or containers.

How tightly should I pack the holes?

Fill each hole snugly without gaps. Pack it looser for more air exchange or tighter for less.

Can I reuse polyfil?

We recommend fresh polyfil for each new grow so old spores and debris don't carry over.
