Description
Description
The Max Yield Bin Large 66Q monotub is the original monotub designed specifically for mushroom growing — a 66-quart fruiting chamber with eight 2.5" adhesive filter disks, eight resealable clear hole plugs and our custom pre-cut liner, ready for two spawn bags and 10 lbs of bulk substrate.
We stock the Max Yield Bin alongside our own Grower's Select tubs. The big difference is air exchange: the Max Yield Bin has eight filtered holes to the Grower's Select 66Q's six, for growers who like more passive fresh air across a large canopy.

Why growers pick the Max Yield Bin
- Built for mushrooms from day one – Max Yield Bins were designed as mushroom monotubs, not storage totes with holes added later.
- Eight filtered holes – More filter area than a six-hole tub, which helps keep fresh air moving across a large fruiting surface.
- Clear resealable plugs – The clear stick-on plugs seal the holes during colonization and peel off when it is time to fruit — and they reseal, so you can reuse them.
- Ready out of the box – Holes pre-drilled, filter disks, plugs and a custom pre-cut liner included.
- Big-harvest size – 66 quarts takes two spawn bags and 10 lbs of bulk substrate.
What's in the box
- 1 × Max Yield Bin 66-quart polypropylene monotub with lid
- 8 × original 2.5" adhesive monotub filter disks
- 8 × resealable clear hole plugs
- 1 × Midwest Grow Kits custom pre-cut UV-sterilized monotub liner
How to run it
- Line the tub. Fit the liner into a clean tub. It keeps substrate off the plastic, helps prevent side pinning, and makes cleanup a matter of lifting it out.
- Plug the holes and spawn. Insert the plugs, then mix two spawn bags or 3–4 quart jars of colonized grain into 10 lbs of pasteurized bulk substrate — roughly 1 part grain to 3 parts substrate. Level the surface.
- Colonize. Keep the lid on and the plugs in at room temperature until white mycelium covers the surface.
- Switch to fruiting. Pull the plugs so the filter disks can exchange air, give the tub indirect light, and keep the surface humid.
- Harvest and repeat. Pick each flush, rehydrate the cake, and run more flushes. When the tub is spent, pull the liner and wash the tub for the next grow.

Need spawn and substrate?Pair the tub with two colonized grain spawn bags and 10 lbs of bulk substrate.
Common questions
How much spawn and substrate does the Max Yield Bin take?
Two spawn bags or three to four 32 oz grain jars, mixed into 10 lbs of pasteurized bulk substrate.
How is it different from the Grower's Select 66Q?
Both are 66-quart tubs that take the same load. The Max Yield Bin has eight filtered holes and clear resealable plugs; the Grower's Select 66Q has six holes, a slightly wider body at 15.75", and our extra-thick wall design.
Do I need to drill anything?
No. The eight holes are pre-drilled, and the adhesive filter disks, clear plugs and liner are included.
Are the clear plugs reusable?
Yes. They are resealable — peel them off when you switch to fruiting and stick them back on for your next colonization.
Is the tub reusable?
Yes. Pull the liner at the end of a grow, wash and disinfect the tub, then fit a fresh liner and filter disks for the next run.
