A monotub filter disk is a circular piece of material, typically made of polypropylene, that is used to filter the air entering a monotub used in the cultivation of mushrooms.

The filter disk is placed over the ventilation holes on the top of the monotub and is secured in place with a lid. The purpose of the filter disk is to prevent contaminants, such as bacteria and other airborne particles, from entering the growing environment while still allowing for proper air exchange.

The filter disk typically has a micron rating, which refers to the size of the particles that it can effectively filter out. The most common micron rating for monotub filter disks is 0.2 microns, which is small enough to prevent most contaminants from passing through while still allowing for adequate air flow.

The use of a filter disk is considered an important step in maintaining a sterile and healthy growing environment for mushrooms, as contamination can significantly reduce yields and quality.

Clean & Reuse with 3% Peroxide!

We teamed up with Micropose in 2019 to create the original Monotub disk to say goodbye to polyfil! Our disks are rated for proper air flow unlike many cheap knockoffs. We take the guess work out of the air exchange equation with our newly designed Polyfil filter disks. Constructed from a durable synthetic water resistant fiber and 3M adhesive back, these disks have the perfect flow rate and density to allow the right amount of air exchange for monotubs, indoor greenhouses (Martha Tents) or any bulk casing style grow. They keep humidity in and allow for the high levels of air exchange needed for any tub or greenhouse. Simply peel and stick over any size hole up to 2.25" diameter. Can be cleaned with Hydrogen Peroxide and re-used for multiple grows.

I’ve used theses for years and never a disappointment, they are reusable after soaking them in 3% peroxide which I’ve done and still works fine. Great to keep around

I received my monotub adhesive filter discs and mushroom drying kit and 3other items very fast I was surprised by the size of the filter discs I thought they would be smaller I bought 4 five. Grain jars from you I. Innoculated all four jars with a spore syringe in may and exactly 30 days later I took the fully colonized cakes out of the jars and I. Put two cakes into a one gallon ziplock bag that I swabbed with alcohol inside and out all the cakes broke up very easy I did all the cakes that way then I mixed them with with a 5lb bag of midwest's casing material I put four filter discs on my 27 quart. Sterilite plastic mono tub container i got from big box store it's the perfect size for 4 jars and casing six days after mixing cakes and casing material mushroom mycelium has grown through half of the surface of the casing layer very happy with midwests products
