Our 6-Pack of Mushroom Casing (substrate) is a non-nutritious moisture retaining layer to spread on the top and bottom of your mushroom substrate. This method is generally referred to as the "Bulk" method, Monotub, or Bulk Substrate. this is the popular alternative way to fruit your spawn bags or jars. We provide easy to follow instructions on how to use and create your bulk grow. The hardest part of this process is achieving the perfect ratios of substrate, casing and water. We've made it easy!

Use the following amounts:

  • 6 Jars per 5 pound bag of casing mix (using our 1/2 pint substrate jars)
  • 2-3 5grain Jars (24oz or 30oz)

My first three attempts at growing failed, and I eventually realized that it was my homemade substrate. I am guessing that the coconut coir I used had Trichy ADDED to it because it was for gardening and apparently that's a thing. Either way, I figured that i would just buy substrate until my other skills got better and that has worked out great so far. At some point I'll get back into making my own, but for now I like being able to concentrate on the other stuff.

Always works!
