Sodium Polyacrylate is a safe non-toxic compound that has very unique effects being able to absorb over 100 times its weight in water and create a bond around the water holding it in. This superabsorbent polymer has helped many in mycology use as well. We all know what its like to start a bulk monotub grow and suddenly the dreaded green mold appears. In most cases, little can be done to salvage this grow. We've been testing solutions for years and this compound has had the best success rate.

How do I use it? How does it work?
At first sign of mold it is best to start with hydrogen peroxide, this can cure many small, early surface molds, but many times the roots have grown deeper and something more drastic must be done to save the rest.
Start by applying a thick layer of sodium polyacrylate on the top of the affected area and also extend about half inch into the regular casing. The polymer will rapidly bond with any moisture in the mold killing it within hours and also stop it from spreading. Wait a few hours and place a shot glass or small cup that is slightly bigger than the mold spot and press down. Leave the cup there until the end of your grow.

I had mold growing in one of the large spawn jars near the top with a small bloom of Lion's Mane at the bottom. I decided it was worth a try and sprinkled about 3/4 of a teaspoon of the powder over the mold. It's been a week and the mold has not spread but the mycelium has more than doubled in size. I am impressed and will buy it again.

This stuff works!! It stopped a 1" mold spot of green from getting any bigger and actually looks like the mycelium around the mold is whiter than before. I would keep this handy if you are doing a bulk grow. I had this express shipped!
